Why You Should Chose What You Eat And Drink Very Carefully
You Are What You Eat. How many times have you heard that? It has almost reached cliché status. It’s more than a cliché, however. It’s a statement of fact. Consider your body as an Indy race-car. Why an Indy car? Because an Indy race-car is a high speed marvel of automotive engineering excellence. And, you might say, why should we classify our bodies as comparable to an Indy race-car? And the answer would be, because we are the product of the best body engineer in the universe.
So what do Indy car owners feed their high performance cars? High octane fuel of course. So what does this Indy car analogy have to do with us? Well our bodies are comprised of millions of moving parts that function in perfect harmony to keep us functioning normally. We are able to digest our food, think, see clearly, walk, talk, reproduce, repel attacks on our immune system, and grow. We are able to do all those things when our body is functioning properly.
When our bodies are not functioning properly we have problems digesting our food, we get degenerative diseases and a host of other problems. Some of the major causes of these problems are the ingestion of inferior food into our bodies, we inhale tobacco smoke, and we drink excessive amounts of alcohol. When these items are introduced into our bodies on a regular basis, our magnificent machine becomes less and less efficient and soon our bodily functions begin to fail. When our immune system begins to fail, diseases find their way in.
Back in the old days the pioneers went hunting for their meat and farmed for their fruits and vegetables. The food they ate was wholesome and full of nutrients. Well those days are gone and they will not be coming back. We now get our food from supermarkets. The growers who furnish the produce are using fertilizers, insecticides, and fungicides to maximize production. Those chemicals make their way into the fiber by osmosis, and washing the produce after you get home is totally ineffective.
When we eat the tainted food our immune system detects the foreign substance and makes an effort to eliminate the toxins from the body via the waste elimination process. But as time goes on and we continue eating those types of foods, our immune system becomes less efficient and more of the toxins remain in the body.
Where do those toxins go? Our body, that magnificent machine, realizes these toxins are harmful and does the best it can to keep those harmful materials out of the blood stream. Since it is working with a depressed immune system, it stores the foreign materials that are left after the elimination process in organs like the liver, prostate, pancreas, and others. As these toxins accumulate over time, the host organs begin to break down causing the degenerative diseases we, too frequently, hear about.
So What Can We Do? We Have To Eat
1. If you eat out, avoid fast foods and soft drinks.
2. Read the labels of everything before you buy. Beware of Sodium Benzoate, Propylene Glycol, Benzoic Acid, Sodium Laurel Sulfate, High Fructose Corn Syrup, and Artificial Sweeteners.
3. Buy organic produce, grass fed beef, and free range chicken.
4. Drink bottled water (distilled from reverse osmosis).
5. Don’t smoke and stay away from those who do.
6. Life is precious. A high quality of life is more precious than life itself.
The quality of the food and liquid you consume has a direct bearing on the efficiency of your immune system. An efficient immune system is a major player in your body's effort to keep you healthy and disease free.
